IWR6843: Migrating to IWR6843 ES2.0 from ES1.0

Part Number: IWR6843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

I have IWR6843ISK ES1.0. I need to migrate to ES2.0 to use the labs in toolbox. I didn't understand the guide "Migrating to IWR68xx and IWR18xx".

It is enough flash the device with Uniflash by using iwr6xxx_radarss_rprc.bin of the SDK 3.3.0 ?

I don't have CCS. Actually, my IWR6843ISK ES1.0 works correctly with mmWAVE Demo Visualizer.

Thanks.

  • Hi Giovanni,

    1. Most of the IWR6843 labs in mmWave Industrial Toolbox have already been migrated to ES2.0 in the in the latest Industrial Toolbox (version 4.0.1).
    2. You will need to order a new IWR6843ISK which now ship with ES2.0 chip. Note that labs compiled for ES2.0 chip are not compatible with ES1.0 chip and vice-versa.
    3. You can access the previous versions of the same labs which run on ES1.0 chip/ISK by downloading Industrial Toolbox 3.6.2 by following the instructions available in the Toolbox Readme Page
    4. The migration guide is provided for customers who want to migrate their own software which they have on ES1.0 device to work on ES2.0 devices and all the instructions provided in the corresponding table need to be followed to port the code to ES2.0 (which is what we did to port the labs from ES1.0 to ES2.0)

Hope the above answers your questions. Please get back if you need more support on this topic.

    Regards
