IWR6843ISK: IWR6843 ES1.0 vs. ES2.0

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843, MMWAVE-SDK

What is exactly the difference between ES1.0 and ES2.0 of IWR6843? If I have ES1.0, does that mean I should NOT download industrial toolbox v4.0 or above or is it backward compatible?

  • Hi Mustafa,

The Toolbox v.4.0.x corresponds to mmWave-SDK 3.3 for most labs which also corresponds to IWR6843 ES2.0.

Toolbox 3.6.2 and prior corresponds to mmWave-SDK 3.2 and also corresponds to ES1.0 silicon.

Let me know if you have more questions.

    Cheers,

    Akash

  • Thanks Akash so I am assuming we should not update to sdk3.3 or the industrial toolbox v4.0.x if our hardware is IWR6843 ES1.0.

The other question I had is, is there a document that lists the changes between ES2.0 and ES1.0 for IWR6843 including hardware bug fixes and new hardware features? If there are, can you please point me to it.

    Thanks!

    Mustafa

  • Hi Mustafa,

You should look at the errata document.

Let me know if you still have questions.

    Cheers,
