Hi Team,

One quick question, do we have plan to release 2.5Gbps LAN SWITCH this year?

Customer is looking for 2:1 SPDT at 2.5Gbps or above, I cannot find it on ti.com, thanks!

    Our LAN switches are listed under the protocol specific muxes here :

    As you noted, there doesn't look to be a 2.5GHz multiplexer here but that would only be a problem if they're looking for per line. If per channel, we could possibly have a solution.

    What is the channel count and voltage range are they're looking for? We do have other multiplexers that could support this bandwidth. Depending on the channel count, we may need to provide a multi-chip solution.
    TMUX136 and TMUX646 would two 2:1 devices  that can support the frequency. These will both be up to 6GHz.

    As 2.5Gb/s Ethernet individual channel will be 1.25Gb/s

    I'm sorry but their responses weren't quite clear to get the information needed.
    I see that they cleared up that it's 8 channels, but the encoding will make a difference here. And how they're defining a channel. I believe it should be 4-pairs for 8 lines. Are each line a channel in their eyes?
    I'd recommend going through that FAQ again that I linked above if it'll help but to sort of summarize, the bits/seconds correspond to how many bits the receiver is actually reading per second of time. However, that doesn't mean that the frequency per line will be the same. Some communication protocols read on the rising edge, some on falling edge of the clock. This would mean that every clock cycle, 1 bit is read. But say you read across 8 channels, all on 1 rising edge. The clock cycle is at the same frequency but if you have 8, your frequency can now be 1/8 of the bit rate needed. 
    Additionally, you may protocols that read on both the rising and falling edge. Or there are even more complex symbols that can be read. This would allow for an even higher bit rate while keeping the frequency the same. 

    What I'm looking for is that frequency, as that will be limiting factor of whether the switch can support this. That being said, I did find this online:

    That indicate that the frequency bandwidth itself per line is 100MHz, which should make the TS3L500 more than capable of handling this request.
