TMUX8108: Maximum frequency for signals passed through?

Hi,

I am looking to pass a signal (current of about 30mA provided by a voltage controlled Howland Current Pump powered by +/- 30V) from D to Sx (one of S1 to S8).

After selecting one Sx (e.g. Sx) and wait for the T_ON time, what will the signal maximum frequency I can pass? Or what is the minimum current pulse width I can pass through this mux. and close this pulses can be one to the following one?

If I am understanding your question right here is a good answer i can give you. Please feel free to correct me if I am not understanding your question properly

There is no minimum current pulse width based of current for Ti analog multiplexers. The 30 mA you are passing should be fine for this device as that falls under the recommended operating conditions of the data sheet.

Please let me know if there is specific ac signal your are trying to pass through the mux as we can look into the bandwidth spec of this device and see if this device will pass that signal correctly.

Hi Kameron,

I know that it may be not enough info in the datasheet, however it is hard to believe that I can pass a current pulse with a very small width.

E.g. Can I pass without distortions a 30mA pulse with a width of, lets say 1nano second?

The switch has a certain resistance and capacitance, so the pulse will be distorted. The question is how much distortion you can tolerate; the PSpice model might help. Also see [FAQ] How do I Approximate Propagation Delay and Channel to Channel Skew in an Analog Switch/Multiplexer?
