CCS version 5.1.1.00031 offline download will not install

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I have downloaded the offline CCS version 5.1.1.00031 but am having trouble getting it to do a full feature install. I've tried to instll it on two computers with the same result. Both computers also have CCs version 3.0 installed.

The error says there are one or more features were not installed correctly and to see the install log in the installJammerResistry folder. This was after waiting over 30 minutes for the install to complete. It was installing ccsinit_setup_5.1.0.0.exe executable when it occurred. The install window had the following:

Error installing ccsinit_setup_5.1.0.0.exe executable for feature com.ti.ccstudio.ccsinit.win32. Error exiting installation.

This install file does not give any clue to the problem.

I can install CCS version 5.1.0.09 from the DVD  and do not get any errors. Trying to install version 5.1.1.00031 over this also results in an installation failure. If I perform a software update after installing version 5.1.0.09 and then try to install version 5.1.1.00031 over it I get an error something like the installation is not compatible and cannot be upgraded to this version.

Is there any reason why the offline downloadable version 5.1.1.00031 would fail to install?

  • Hi Dave,

some comments and things to check/try

1 - I would highly recommend using the latest released version (5.2)

2 - Did you use only folder with no accented or special characters or spaces?  Did you avoid the program files directory?

3 - did you redownload in case of corruption

4 - did you unzip the installer first?

Could you send the contents of your installjammer registry directory (under program files or program files (x86))?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Two other things to check

    - turn off any antivirus

    - make sure you have full permissions

  • We purchased a floating license. Will there be any licensing issue going to version 5.2? If not I will try 5.2. Will I need to uninstall my dvd installed copy first or install it in a different location?

I did not use any special folder. Not sure what you mean about avoiding the programs files directory but I Installed it to d:\ti.  First install attempt was from a network drive. Second attempt I copied the downloaded files to the same local drive that I wanted to install it to (D) and yes I unzipped the files first.

I did re-download it, unzipped it, and did a file comparison between the two downloaded copies.

I did disable the anti-virus and believe that I have administrator permissions. The purchased dvd version installs without any error so I believe my permissions are ok.

Unfortunately I did not save the install log or the directory contents. Do you just want a listing of the files in the directory or the contents of the install log?  I will try to install it again tomorrow and if it fails I will try to send it to you

  • HI Dave,

please keep us informed, and yes v5.1.1 and v5.2 are allowed on the same license so licensing is not an issue here at all.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • I have downloaded CCS version 5.2 and successfully installed it on both computers. The install process was improved as the time for installation was much quicker. For the full feature install it reduce my install time by 10-15 minutes.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Dave,

ok, glad to hear you are now up and running and already having a better experience with 5.2.

    All the best with development.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
