CCS5 Discovers new Eclipse Installation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I have installed CCS version 5.1.0.201201061800 and it was working fine.  I subsequently installed a new version of Eclipse (Juno release) and have discovered that CCS is now using the newer version of Eclipse with all the TI specific additions omitted.  Is there a way to get CCS to use the original version of Eclipse that was installed with CCS?  Thanks.

  • Hi Jim,

To confirm - you had a full CCS install (with Eclipse 3.7 which it comes with). Then you installed Juno (is this the Eclipse 4.2 one or 3.8?) in a separate directory and the CCS plugins are finding that new install?

  • HI Jim,

can you also confirm that you have been using ccstudio.exe  to launch? It uses a differet .ini file.  Did you overwrite your eclipse?

  • Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.  I can confirm all that you have said except the last part.  I was confused.  CCS is not finding the new install.  I originally thought this because when I opened up one of my projects and looked at the project properties, several tabs were missing, specifically C6000 Linker and CCS Build->C6000.  At first glance it looked like most of the TI specific stuff was missing.  There must be something wrong with my install.  Any suggestions (other than re-install CCS)?

  • Hi Jim,

if you only have the new Juno release installed or got it via a CCS update (juno site) then you will have to reinstall.  The current releases of CCS are not compatible (some GUI issues) with the new Juno release.

    Please keep us informed.
