document to prove that CCS is free for download and free license with XDS100

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Dear Champ,

Do we have any document to prove that CCS is free for download and free license with XDS100.

We had shown the website link for customer's IT team but they only accept the document format from TI.

Do we have any document for that??

Please help for that.

  • Brian,

The license agreement covers this and is a document.

I am not sure which version they want but here is a link to an example: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/images/8/8d/Code_composer_studio_v5_1_software_license_agreement.pdf

  • Hello John,

Maybe you can help with the following inquiry:

Using the free CCS (Version 5.0.0.00090) with a LogicPD evaluation board “KIT EXPERIMENTER OMAP-L138”. I would like to know if this free CCS version:

    1. can also be used with custom hardware?
    2. If the  answer is yes, do I need to use the XDS100 emulator?

I have read the Wiki on this subject (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Licensing_-_CCS#Free_Licenses) but it seems to contain a contradiction:

"The CCS will only work with the onboard emulation on the board.  This free license can also be used with simulators or with XDS100 class emulators..."

"Only" is usually used when it is the only possible scenario. But there is the following sentence that mentions that using the XDS100 is also possible.

If I have custom HW based on the L138 can I use the free CCS and what HW Debugger (Emulator) do I need?

    Thanks

    Seb

You need an XDS100 emulator. With that emulator, you can use CCS for free.

    Thanks
