Hi,
I would use Framework Components in one of my projects but CCS installer didn't install FC.
Can I install FC and manage its updates in CCS? How?
Or, should I handle FC separately and manually?
(I cannot found any FC repository in update sites)
Regards,
Peter
Unfortunately, FC is managed separately outside of CCS. So you can't manage its update inside CCS.

Hi Peter,
what specific item and/or plug-in are you trying to install?
There are a couple places where you can manage this yourself, but please note the plug-in/component needs to be compatible with the eclipse installation upon which CCS is based. (C/C++ version 3.8 for CCSv5.3 for example)
One place is in Help->Install New Software and the other is Window->Preferences->Install/Update->List of Available Software Sites. You are able to add new sites and pull in components/plug-ins from both of these areas.
Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I would use Framework Components v2.26.00.01 in CCS 5.3.0.00090.
And, I would be really happy, if would exist an update site for the FC also, instead of have to manage it manually.
I cannot found any update site for FC in the listed sites in Window / Preferences / Install/Update / Available SoftwareSites.
I neither don't know your FC update site address to add it to list (if you have).
Firstly, I wanted to use Help / Install New Software function also but none of FC install is offered by CCS (because I have not an update site for that for properly working, I think).
I would appreciate if you write me the address of relevant update site for FC (if any).
Best regards,
Peter
Hi Peter,
as my colleague posted, these are managed outside the scope of CCS. However, there are a variety of eclipse features and plug-ins that you can manage in the ways I mentioned. I just wanted to be clear what it was you were targeting.
All the best with development.

Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your answer.
The linker gives me the following warning.
Is this a compatibility issue which were referred to, or I can ignore it safely?
warning #16002-D: build attribute vendor section TI missing in "C:/TI/framework_components_2_26_00_01/packages/ti/sdo/utils/trace/lib/debug/gt.a64P<gt.o64P>": compatibility cannot be determined
Best regards,
Peter
Hi Peter,
the bulk of warnings can usually be ignored but I would do some investigation in your case on your dependancies. You could ignore the warning and do some extra checks as an idea.
Hope this helps going forward.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Peter,
no worries, that's what we're here for. I only wish your desired components would be a bit easier to match together.
All the best with development.

Lisa
