MSP430G2231 not coming in device variant in project setting step of CCS.

Hello Everyone,

I installed CCS version 4 (platinum edition) on my windows 7 laptop.I am not getting the device variant as MSP430G2XXX in project settings step of creating a new CCS project..Can anybody tell me what is the problem.Help me out from this problem.I have uninstalled it and again installed it even though the problem persists.

Hi Nikita,

You'll have to select "MSP430G2131" during project settings as the datasheet as well as the pinout is common for both and secondly you can select "MSP430G2231" during target configuration settings later.

Hi,

Infact there is no MSP430G2XXX FAMILY in my Device Variant.

Try using "Print screen" option available on keyboard instead of cam pics. Anyways you didn't reply which CCS version are you using?

Yes, I did check with CCS v4, no MSP "G" series is mentioned. Update your CCS to the latest one v5.4; you'll be able to use then.

Hi Nikita,

especially if you are new to ccs I would download v5.5 and use that

your version is likely too old to have value line part support.
