CCS: Resource Explorer Problem

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

CCS Version:

Version: 9.0.1.00004

MAC Mojave Version:

10.14,3

When I click on "Resource Explorer" either as a tab on the CCS editing page or on the group that pops up with 'Import Project" "New Project" etc., I get a wobbly compass graphic and a "Loading" statement along with:

"Starting TiREX"

....And that has been sitting there with the compass needle wobbling for the last hour and a half with no further action, it never seems to finish loading and does not turn up any error or other messages.

Other functions seem normal.

Inspirations?

  • Found answer under 'Clear the Resource Explorer Cache' and restarting Resource Explorer. All seems o.k. now.
  • Hello Tuatha,
close "Resource Explorer" and start it again, and again if needed.
More products you have installed, more time needed to start and higher possibility for a timeout.
  • Hi Tomasz:

I'm not sure if you had the answer as I was having to 'Force Quit' CCS. It would not let go of my computer in a normal fashion and would only display the spinner whilst doing nothing. I started CCS several times and each time had to force it to quit so I'm not sure restarting would have provided an answer.

The effective answer was to clear the Resource Explorer Cache, I found it had two entries when examined. Tossing both of them in the trash cleared the problem on the next single restart.

  • Hi Tuatha,
I have recommended to restart Resource Explorer which meant not leaving CCS.
I my case, having many products and platforms, Resource Explorer cache cleaning does not help.

It could be related to asynchronous nature of JavaScript and a filesystem cache nature.
    I do not know.
