PMP30495: 3-phase Input to 12VDC converter

Hi,

I want to convert 3-phase AC line voltage with each phase voltage range of 85VAC-250VAC and convert it into 12VDC 1.5A output. The supply should be able to provide the required output even if only one phase is available and the other two phases are down. I came accross this reference design PMP30495. Will this be able to provide output even if any one phase is available? Why R16 here is for test purpose I mean if R16 is DNP then this whole section will be of no use? Any recommeded part number of transformer for single 12V output that is available easily.

Hi,

yes the design should work with one phase. BTW, such a design uses a custom made transformer therefore I do not have an alternative partnumber. R16 is used for injecting the signal of a frequency response analyzer to measure the open loop of the system. It can be replaced with a 0ohm resistor.

Hi,
Will 11328-T078 transformer will be okay for this design? The auxilary voltages are 12V instead of 15V in the reference design. Will there be any changes in the reference design circuit?

This design needs a turns ratio between primary and secondary of 10, an primary inductance of 1500uH, and a transformer saturation current of 1.5A (primary). An auxiliary voltage of 15V would be okay if the VS voltage divider is adjusted.
