Did you try to remove the USB from the connector?

When you flashed the device, did you set the image in "Development" mode?

Once flashed, I removed the USB from the computer and plugged it in to another computer to keep it powered. Is this what you were asking?

I flashed the device using CCS (and not the UNIFLASH or SYSCONFIG tool) and while flashing I did not modify anything. In which mode CCS is by default? How can I check and change this thing?

the 1170 error typically indicates something is wrong with the XDS state (this happens sometime following the programming). Disconnecting the USB cable from the launchpad and reconnecting it - typically fixes it.

Are you using the launchpad or any customized board?

I'm using LAUNCHXL-CC3235S (https://www.ti.com/tool/LAUNCHXL-CC3235S).

I've been using this board for more than a couple of months. There has never been an issue while I used to program it in debug mode. 

I flashed it for the very first time and started facing the issue.

I've tried almost all the possible troubleshooting including USB connection - disconnection.

I'm not familiar with such issue. Have you changed the SOP lines? 

Please try to program it again making sure the device is development mode (General Settings -> Image mode)

General Settings -> Image mode

you can find it either in Uniflash/ImageCreator or in CCS if you open the image.syscfg.

no one is familiar with a persistent issue like this. I suggest you try reprogram the board again with the correct image mode.

I verified in the image.sysconfig. It's in development mode only and not in production mode.

What can be done next? If you're not familiar with this issue, can you loop in somebody who is familiar?

as shown, can SOP be configured to 011 position to restore the factory default image? If yes, how? Can this resolve my problem?

if you succeeded programming the flash - this is the same as going to factory default image.

I forwarded this to our hardware expert to try to assist.

I double checked the sysconfig. It was not in production mode. Do you want me to share the screenshot of the same? Also, in all those TI devices that I've used so far, the UART mode can be used for debugging and flashing both. 

Can you please share the workaround for the issue that I've been facing?

Hello Seong,

I was referring to MSP430FR5969 and TMS570LC4357 based eval board available from TI that I've used. I frequently flash these devices and never encountered this problem. While with CC3235, I flashed it for the first time and then not able to use the board.

I've already installed Uniflash in my system. However, with CCS11, I'm using sysconfig to configure and program my device instead or using Uniflash tool. 

I tried all the workaround that I could think of and that TI team has suggested. Still not able to use my launchpad. 

What can be done now? Will I never ever be able to program this Launchpad and would have to go for another procurement?
