Q: TPA3001D1 latching up during the functional test
Lately, We see where 20 W Mono Class-D Audio Power Amplifier TPA3001D1 latching up during the functional test
Issue: Randomly Chan1 or chan2 are latched up.
What I find:
On Latched channel:
a) VCLAMP Pin7:4 VDC
b) ROSC & COSC Pin 20 & 21: No oscillation
c) Two OUTP & OUTN (Pin10 & Pin11, Pin13 &14): 0VDC
On TI TPA3001D1 Application Note (Fig 30 at page 14) suggest to use 1nF, Our design use 330 no.
Does our design have too much capacitance at the load?
A: RE: TPA3001D1 latching up during the functional test
The customer is placing too much capacitance in the load. I would recommend raising the inductance and lowering the capacitance as is shown in page 18 in the TPA3001 datasheet. On this page there are some reference designs for the output filter for different loads.
