To use LM318 as a fast switching Buffer, what are the recommended connections on Bal, Comp, and Bal&Comp pins? is it fine to not doing any connections to these pins?
please suggest the best suitable alternative part for LM318, in the point of electrical features.
Hi Chukka,
give some details on your buffer, like supply voltage, gain, bandwidth, load, input signal, etc. And give some details on your application.
Kai
Hello Chukka,
LM318 is over 45 years old. There was not a great selection of op amps back then. Check out LM318-N data sheet as it has a lot more information. See figures 37, 38, & 41
Please provide the details that Kai requested; I'm sure we have a better device to recommend .
Hi Kai,
Input to the circuit is 1.25V DC and high frequency (~20Mhz) noise. we want to find the peak amplitude of the AC signal (expecting in mV).
Please suggest the right combination of op-amps to use for buffer and amplification.
Chukka,
I added high speed amplifier support to this thread. They should reply within 24 hours.
Hello Chukka,
For second stage at 20V/V and analyzing signal at 20MHz, I would suggest switching out the OPA810 with a higher GBW part such as THS4021, THS3001, or THS3491. Here is a link to compare devices.
Thank you,
Sima
