TLV7031: Not simulating in Tina, AC hysteresis

Part Number: TLV7031

TLV7031: Zero crossing detection is not at 50% duty cycle - Amplifiers forum - Amplifiers - TI E2E support forums

The simulation circuit mentioned with the capacitor doesn't seem to simulate in tina, it Stucks in the middle. Can you please look into it. Also how was the capacitor (680p) chosen. can I get some detailed explanation. How do i try out different values ?

  • Hi Mohammed,

Thank you for reaching out. You may need to increase your R4 resistance as TINA seems to run into some issues regarding the current. The idea is that the resistors and the capacitor form a RC time constant in which the desired duration and amount of hysteresis is dependent on. The RC time constant must be <<< than the input waveform period so that  the trip point will have settled by the time the next threshold crossing comes.  In that specific case, 680pF was chosen as it worked experimentally in the lab.
