INA129-EP: INA129-EP DS precision & Compare INA129-EP vs. INA129UA

Hi,

in chapter 6.5 of the DS of the INA129-EP, what is "Overtemperature" test conditions ? 

Characteristics (Offset voltage, CMR, Bias &n Offset currents, Gain error, Nonlinearity, etc) are given both at nominal test condition & "overtemperature" test condition (ex for G&in error: test cond1: G=1, test.cond2 = overtemperature). There are 2 columns referring to the same TA=25°C with different performance. I am struggling with this overtemperature test condition which is not envolved for instance in the INA129UA DS...

In our design we would like to change the uspcreened part (-55°C/+125°C) of INA129UA with the extended mil range of the INA129-EP whose features are very similar. Are the two references with the same die ? with the INA-129EP upscreened by TI ?

    The test conditions are given at the top of the electrical characteristics table as: Ta=25°C, Vs=+/-15V, RL=10kΩ (unless otherwise noted). Any specific conditions noted in the "Test Conditions" column take precedent over these generic test conditions.

    For your example of Gain error G=1,

    The results circled in red are for test conditions: Ta=25°C, Vs=+/-15V, RL=10kΩ, G=1.

    The results circled in blue are for test conditions: Ta= -55°C to 125°C, Vs=+/-15V, RL=10kΩ, G=1.

    I looked into the manufacturing information and I believe the INA129-EP is the same die as INA129, however this is not a simple screen-out. The INA129-EP is manufactured under its own process flow with a controlled baseline, along with the additional qualification screening to receive the EP (Enhanced Plastic) designation.

  • Hi Zach,

    It is what I assumed it should mean, just what is struggling is the columns on the left and on the right both indicate +25°C. Therefore it is not clear why they mention the same temperature. It would have been better the right columnto indicates:" from -55°C to +125°C" and to remove lines with the Overtemperature status, which for us is a kind of other test condiction. This special condition would be with output loaded  with a different load than RL=10K, then making the component getting hotter... I suggest revising the datasheet for clarity.
