Hi Team,

I'm planning on purchasing the TLV3801EVM to evaluate the comparator. I need to connect the LVDS to a FPGA board but I couldn't find a FPGA board with SMA connectors (as the comparator EVM has SMA connector) connecting to the high-speed pins (not GT pins as it's not suitable). Is there any experimental setup that you propose other than with oscilloscope but with FPGA dev board with which I can evaluate the TI comparator?

Thanks for your post. We are out until Monday for holiday break but if you can share a picture of connection common to FPGA boards it would be interesting for us to consider for future EVMs. Our thought was that most would use an oscilloscope for evaluation as we do.

Most of the FPGA development boards have their pins compatible with LVDS interface connected through FMC headers (LPC/HPC).

I can give an example of the FPGA we are planning to use and it has 3 FMC headers which has numerous LVDS compatible pins connected to FPGA. The SMA connector on it cannot help as it's connected to the specialised GT pins, so if there's an SMA to FMC bridge board, the evaluation should be possible;

Hi Shine,

Thank you for sharing your development board. As Chuck said, the TLV3801EVM was intended to be used with an oscilloscope to evaluate the TLV3801 and not to incorporate into a system like having the output connected to the FPGA. We'll consider implementing this type of output compatibility in our future EVMs.
