Tool/software:
We want to use INA253 for current sensing, could you pls support to calculate if it can meet our accuracy requirement? thank you.
Irms : 3.0A
ADC resolution : 12 bit
Vref_ADC : 5.0V
Customer required accuracy : 2%
Hi,
The INA253 specification is able to guarantee 0.6% accuracy at room temperature for 3A.
To meet the resolution requirement, filtering is necessary that is 20kHz or lower. Additional error budget should be allocated to ADC itself.

Hi,
To limit bandwidth, the HW solution can be a simple RC filter at the output. For example, 300ohm + 50nF yields ~10kHz.
We don’t have a special tool for high temp. I did a rough manual calculation for 125˚C, the expected error is about 1.3%. In the future, once the use condition is specified, it will be possible to do a more accurate estimate, but I don’t expect the number to change too much.

Guang
