INA193A-Q1: Input current into any pin

Dear all,

Could you teach me about 'Input current into any pin' at data sheet absolute max?

I would like to know the reason why this parameter is written.

I do not understand what to concern by this parameter.

Best regards,

  • Hi Takao,
"Input current into any pin" parameter in the absolute maximum ratings table is the maximum possible current allowed into any pin of INA193-INA198 devices. If for any reason the current into any of the pins exceeds this specification, the devcie could be damaged.
  • Dear Rabab,

    Thank you for your reply.
I would like to check one thing about my understanding.

    I understand that ...
''Input current into any pin'' does not derive from Vin or Vin+.
And I think that 5mA do not flow at usual situation.
So, regardless of Vin and other factor, we should deal to be within 5mA whenever unusual situation occur.

    Is this understanding correct?

    Best regards,
  • Hi Takao,
You are correct. Under normal operating conditions, 5 mA will not flow through the pins. But under unusual circumstances where the conditions exists for >5mA current flow through the pins, device damage can occur.
