LMP92064 - Current/Power Monitor

HI Prahlad,

The common mode range of LMP92064 is -0.2 V to 2V. You can't monitor 50V with this device. Why you selected this device? You need SPI interface?

1st page of the datasheet shows 48V battery measurement using external resistor divider. Plan is to use in same resistor divider configuration. SPI / I2C interface is fine.
Is LMP92064 best suited for the application? Or you recommend any other IC?

I missed the application recommendation! If your customer is willing to use the external components then you can recommend LMP92064. I would recommend they try this on the lab before designing any layout. This is just a reference design and there is no data associated to support it.

We don't have any current/power device able to measure 48V without external components. If I2C interface is preferred you can recommend INA226 with TIDA-00528 TI Design. This is a more complex design thou, not just voltage divider.

Since common-mode voltage of LMP92064 is 2V & INA226 is 12V (max up to 40V), do customer need to compulsorily use design similar to TIDA-00528?
It looks really complex.
Is there any simpler implementation for 50V, 2A requirement?

We do not have high voltage devices (48V) with digital outputs. Those options (reference designs) are the only ones I can think of. Unless your customer is willing to use an analog output device (not digital). We have devices that can go up to 80V Vcm.

For analog output more specs are needed such as gain, bandwidth and other factors. Have them take a look at the parametric table to find out more information about their requirements so we have more information to select a device.
