LMV7275: LMV7275MF

Part Number: LMV7275
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMV7272, LMV7271,

hello All,

can anyone please let me know the max output short circuit current for the part LMV7275MF? also what will be the worst case output voltage VOH & VOL for this part ? the datasheet mentions specification for LMV7271/LMV7272 only

thanks

  • Hello Siddharth,

Maximum short circuit current is not specified - only the minimum.

The sink (VOL) current info is the same for the LMV7275 as the LMV7271, as they are the same device, but with the 75's upper output transistor removed (Obviously, it cannot source current).

The VOL information is available in the Output Swing graphs starting on page 9 (Figs 11,13,14). You will need to quantify 'worst case" with a load current, as current causes the output voltage to change.
  • thanks for the reply Paul i will use the VOL specifications for LMV7275 to be the same as LMV7271, can you please confirm what is the min short circuit current? are you referring to 34mA with Vo=2.5v ? i wanted to check for the case where there is a hard short to Ground - any clues on that?
  • Hello Siddharth,

A short-circuit to ground for the LMV7275 will not be an issue as it is an open collector device (cannot source current). It is meant to have other devices "ground" the output (wired-"OR" bus configuration).

The LMV7272 would typically be about 15mA, as specified in the 2.7V short circuit table, and also echoed Figure 4. We do not specify a MAX output current. I would use 20mA as the worst case short circuit current, as 30% is the usual assumed variation for untrimmed parameters.
