INA199: Can I measure a current that vary between 10mA and 5A with INA199 ?

Part Number: INA199

Hello,

Can I measure a  current that vary from10mA to  5A  with INA199 and if not what  the appropriate INA for this target ?

Thank you for your answer

  • Hello Tareq,

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments in your design.  You can use the INA199 for that current range.  However, you will have a large measurement error at the low end of your range (see figure below) due to input offset voltage.  Input offset voltage is something that affects all current shunt monitors at lower current levels.  Yet, the size of this error will vary among devices.  Fortunately, our devices can be filtered and sorted based on this specification in our product search tool.

After choosing a device you can input your operating conditions in the error tool (seen below) found on the right side of the product page.
