XTR105: XTR105 TO BE USED WITH 3 WIRE RTD

Part Number: XTR105

Hi

I need to convert 3 wire rtd input converted to single ended signal. XTR 105 is the chip designed for this. The problem is my power supply to the chipset is 3-3.9 V. The single ended signal has to be 0-3V.

3 wire RTD will be measuring temperatures at -196C and -78.5C. Can you please suggest a solution. xtr105 SHOWING THE PIN NUMBER.pdf

  • Hello,

The XTR105 is a 2-wire transmitter, and is not easy to use for 3-wire applications. It is meant to be loop powered, therefore it requires a minimum supply of +7.5V. Unfortunately, we don’t have any 3-wire transmitters that will run from a 3-V supply with equivalent functionality as the XTR105 for an RTD sensor. It is hard to find 4-20mA current loop transmitters that can operate on a low supply due to compliance voltage requirements.

You could attempt to build a discrete solution using parts that require low voltage supplies, but it won't offer all of the functionality of the XTR105.
