LMK5B12204: Clock Generator

Part Number: LMK5B12204
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK05318, , LMK05318B

Hi Team,

we have used TI's component search tool to source components.

Could you please help me confirm the following questions? Thank you.

Can I replace LMK05318 with LMK5B12204? I would like to use two LMK5B12204. Are there any considerations?

Can LMK5B12204 be used with a 25MHz crystal? Are there any specific requirements?"

  • Hi Gary,

We recommend using the LMK05318B instead of the non-B. The -B version is the latest silicon and supports low-frequency inputs, as well as programmable denominators for both APLL1 and APLL2.

    • LMK05318B and LMK5B12204 are from the same family; the only difference is the number of outputs (8 or 4, respectively).
    • Yes, you may replace LMK05318B with LMK5B12204.
    • A 25 MHz crystal oscillator may be applied to the XO input only if the DPLL is disabled. This means the only input available is the 25 MHz and the PRIREF/SECREF inputs are unused.

    Regards,

    Jennifer
