TPL5010: DONE pin explanation

Dear TI support,

I have one questions about datasheet of TPL5010.

In section "8.3.2 DONE" it can be read: "The DONE signal resets the counter of the watchdog only.". I thought, incorrectly, that each time the DONE signal was asserted, the counter started again from zero, but Figure 8 say the opposite. Time "tip" (the counter?) does not re-start after DONE assertion, could you please explain what that phrase means?

Hi Joaquin,

I think the confusion comes from "counter" and "timer".

Timer sets the time interval, tip.

Counter is part of the watchdog building block, which I believe is used to trigger RSTn if it was not reset within tip-20ms.

Thank you for your answer. It would be useful to add some text in the datasheet clarifying that point, describing in more detail the relationship (or differences) between timer and counter.
