Hello.

I want to synchronize using the SYNC function with LMX2594EVM.

The OSCin and SYNC signals are generated by LMK04828B, and the settings are as shown in the image below.

  1. LMK04828B
    OSCin:95.04MHz
    SYNC:5.94MHz

    OSCin and SYNC signals timing
    ・Red:SYNC signal
    ・Blue:OSCin signal


  2. LMX2594EVM
    Using two LMX2594EVMs with the same settings.
    OSCin:95.04MHz
    RFout:2000.002752MHz
    SYNC→Category 3

  3. Oscilloscope output Signal

At this time, I can't synchronize the output signal as shown in the image 3.

Please tell me the reason why they are not synchronized, or if there are any mistakes in the settings of the image.

    Hi Sambayashi-san,

    The last plot showing the phase between the two LMX2594 output, the difference is approx. 100ps. Is this phase difference consistent after every SYNC? If this is the case, then you have successfully sync the two LMX2594 devices. That phase difference could be due to (1) The channel-to-channel skew in LMX4828, (2) the propagation delay variation in LMX2594 and (3) cable skew.
