CDCEL913: Clock generator programming

Part Number: CDCEL913

Tool/software:

Dear Expert,

In the previous discussion, it was advised to use a 20 MHz reference clock. As per the schematic, we are currently utilizing a 20 MHz crystal oscillator. Could you please clarify if additional configuration of the clock generator is required, or if it can remain in its default configuration?

Thank you.

  • Adarsh,

Yes additional configuration of the clock generator is required as the device default expects a 27MHz input clock. The EEPROM can be programmed through I2C with the desired config. Once the EEPROM is programmed, then the device will power on with the new config and no additional register writing will be required.

    Best,

    Cris
