CDCE925 performance evaluation module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE925, TUSB3410, CDCE913

Today I received the CDCE925 performance evaluation module.  I got CDCE programming module to work the other day, but this new module does not work.  In the device manager, I see two USB serial ports, not TUSB anything.  I tried burning the EEPROM, but I am unable to install the driver for the EEPROM burner.  When I plug in the performance module, I am not given an option to select a driver.  If I try to update the driver from the device manager and point it to where I unzipped the EEPROM burner driver, it does not find anything.  I have tried this on both Windows XP and 7 machines.

Thanks,

Tobyn

  • Hi Tobyn,

Try using the older labview based software found here: http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/scac073

    Gabe

  • Could you provide a little instruction, please?  Is this to burn the EEPROM, the TI3410 driver?

    Thanks,

    Tobyn

  • This will install the appropriate driver as well the GUI for the performance EVMs.

  • Could you provide some instruction on how I am supposed to load this?  If I run the TI3410Inst.exe (under TIclockProProgrammer\VCP_driver), I get the following error:

    "SetupCopyOEMInfo() Failed with error 0x5".

If I run TIClockProProgrammerSept09.exe (under TIclockProProgrammer), it says "Unable to locate LabVIEW Run-Time Engine.". When I follow the readme.txt instructions under TIclockProProgrammer\PROGEVM and run eepromburner.exe, I get "(eepromburnerDlg) (OnInitDialog) RegisterForDeviceNotification Fail (Error 13)".

That is on my windows 7 machine.  On my windows xp machine, I get the same LabView error from TIClockProProgrammerSetpt09.exe.  TI3410Inst.exe installs ok.  eepromburner.exe will run, but it says it cannot find a TI device to program.

How do I get this thing to work?

    Thanks,

    Tobyn

  • Hello Tobyn,

the CDCE925 Performance EVM and the CDCE9xx Programming EVM have 2 different USB connections. The Programming EVM USB connection is based on a TUSB3410 and on the Performance EVM is based on a FTDI chip.
Therefore, the update with the EEPROM burner will NOT work on the performance EVM.

Please note also, that the performance EVM only works in this part of TI Clock Pro:

If a performance EVM is connected, you can clock on "refresh devices" (lower left corner). That should give you a choice of CDCE913 and CDCE925 EVM and the Connection LED (upper left corner) should light up in light Green.

If it still don't work, please send us a screen shot of your device manager, if the Performance EVM is connected.

    Best regards,

    Julian
