TiClockPro on Windows7 to program a cdce706 via a parallel port.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE706

As Windows XP is no longer supported, I am required to use a Windows 7 machine.

I need to program a CDCE706 via a parallel port.

I have installed a PCIe parallel port on the computer, but it is using non-standard addresses.

I have installed the Labview Run Time from:-    "http://www. ni.com/download/labview-run-time-engine-8.2.1/550/en/", but this might not support Windows 7.

I have installed TIClockPro from scac097a, but this might not support Windows 7.

The TiClockPro GUI starts and allows me to set the address of the parallel port, but I cannot get the CDCE706 to program.

Has anyone managed to get TiClockPro working with a parallel port on Windows 7?

Do you know which part of my setup is not working, and how to fix it.

Thanks, for reading my query.

  • Hello Mike,
the CDCE706 software is WinXP only because of the parallel port driver support in Vista or newer.

The EVM has a debug header which you can use to feed any MCU serial interface to. The only item to take care of is that the pin header is also buffered. That means you would have to do a blue wire for the !OE of the buffer as well.

    Best regards,
