LMX2594EVM: LMX2594EVM

Part Number: LMX2594EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2594

If some one wants to synchronize two PLLs(lmx2594) for 1999MHz. Is it possible. Will two PLLs(lmx2594) be synchronized or not?

  • Hi,

Yes, this is possible. If the input frequency to these divides into 199 MHz (i.e.199, 99.5, 19.9,....), then this can be done with a software SYNC (category 2).

However, if your input frequency does not, then you can definitely do it, but you need to use the SYNC pin.

So suppose you have a shared 100 MHz input to two LMX2594 EVM and each one outputs 199 MHz.  Then you set both up in SYNC mode and send the SYNC pulse so that it is away from the rising edge of this 100 MHz input.  Then you can syncnronize the boards this way.

  • Sir my question was for 1999MHz.

Please also tell can we synchronize both devices at output frequency of 1801MHz?

  • What i understood from your reply is that

If my reference frewuency is 100MHz, and my Output frequency from both devices is 1999 (or 1801 ) then both devices can be synchronized by using sync pulse.

    Have i understood correct?

    Thanks for your help

  • Hi There,

please check datasheet section 7.3.10 for the requirement and restriction on phase sync.
