DP83867IR: waveform adjust for compliance test

Part Number: DP83867IR

Tool/software:

Hi, team.

Could you let me know about registers "0xA0" and "0xA6" in detail?

I created prototype board with DP83867IR on it.
I tested 10BASE-T compliance test, but MAU test is failed.
I researched E2E support forums,I learned that waveforms are adjustable.
I checked waveforms as I changed the registers. Please refer to an attached Excel file.
Registers "0xA0" and "0xA6" seem to be adjusting amplitudes.
However, there are no discription the difference between "0xA0" and "0xA6".
Could you let me know about registers "0xA0" and "0xA6" in detail?
I will tune waveforms, after I understand what the registers mean.

  • Hello,

Please refer to our datasheet for information of Reg 0xA0. Please note these are trimmed values and thus will vary across different parts. These are swing registers for each channel.

Unfortunately, we cannot reveal any information regarding Reg 0xA6.

Before adjusting registers, I would strongly advise that you double check your design against our schematic and layout checklists (available in the product folders). Layout/Schematic choices will have bigger impact and can help keep results consistent as possible.

    Sincerely,

    Gerome

  • Hi, team.

Thank you for your reply. I understand.

    I have two more questions.
(1)Where is 0xA0 discribed in datasheet?
    I didn't find it.

(2)Are 0xA2/0xA3 trimmed values, and thus will vary across different parts same as 0xA0?
I may need to adjust 0xA2/0xA3 for 1000BASE-T compliance test.

    Best, regards.

  • Hello,

Reg 0xA2/A3 are not trimmed values and should be static default per datasheet.

Please refer to Page 90 area of SNLS484H.

    Sincerely,

    Gerome

  • Hi, team. Thank you for your reply.

I found 0x00A0-0x00A3 registers in the latest version of the datasheet.
I was looking at an older version of the datasheet.

    Best, regards.
