Tool/software:
hi Ti Team
for DP8386x on how to perform Ethernet compliance testing:
https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla239c/snla239c.pdf?ts=1739988198375&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FDP83867E
For DP83TG720, please refer to the Testing PMA (Section 4) in the below appnote:
Can you teach me how to send commands to measure the SPE signal?
Hi Jim,
You will need to write to the specific register space for this MMD: 0x01. In the GUI, disable the extended register space. Here is the PMA script for Test_Mode_2:
begin 000D 0001 000E 0904 000D 4001 000E 4000 end
Best Regards,
Nick
Hi, Nick,
Sorry for the late reply.
Test_Mode_2 --> OK.
I got the waveform for MODE1, but it's not the one I want. The waveform I want should be as shown in Figure 1.
Do you have the waveform for MODE1?
MODE1 has more test items for the LAN signal.
Figure1.
The waveform shown below is for MODE1, but it is not the one I want.
mode2-->ok
Hi Jim,
Test mode 1 for the DP8386X will look different than for the TG720. You should see Tx_Tclk 125MHz on CLKOUT pin for PMA compliance test mode 1.
See section 4 in the DP83TG720S-Q1: Configuring for Open Alliance Specification Compliance (Rev. B).
Best,
Nick
Hi, Nick,
Let me explain first
Our company can measure standard RJ45 LAN signals of 1G and above. The software test conditions are as shown in the attachment (we have both the required instruments and probe software).
Now, I need to measure SPE signals. How can I perform the measurements in a similar way to what is shown in the attachment? What else do I need to prepare? Is there an SOP?
Hi Jim,
We found this https://download.tek.com/datasheet/TekExpress-Automotive-Ethernet-1000BASE-T1-100BASE-T1-MSO6-Datasheet-61W614083.pdf from Tek that has instructions for doing ethernet compliance.
Best regards,
Nick
