TPS65987D: Connection of unused power switch

Hi team,

Can you help out with the following customer inquiry?

We only use one power switch of the device. According to the example circuit in the datasheet, the unused power switch (VBUS2, PP_HV2) is connected to GND.


However, the datasheet also contains the following contradictory statement:

Do pins VBUS1 and VBUS2 only have to be connected together if both power switches are used?
Since we are planning to have our prototype manufactured soon, a quick answer would be very helpful.

    Hello Franz,

    That is if you are using both internal power paths, you must connect VBUS 1 and VBUS 2 directly with one another. If you are only using one power path though, you can connect VBUS 2 to GND or VBUS 1. Either is correct.
