Hi ,

We are using SN74LVC2G08-Q1 in our project application and I am trying to measure the high level and low level input thresholds. I am observing that VIH= 1.671V which is lesser than the minimum value (2V) mentioned in the datasheet and VIL = 1.225V which is higher than the maximum value (0.8V) mentioned in the datasheet . What could explain the deviation?

This has already been answered in the earlier thread. Is there anything unclear with that explanation?

Hi Clemens,

Your explanation in the previous thread is clear.

As you mentioned that measuring threshold levels is still possible, I have tried re-measuring.

My doubt is regarding the deviation of the VIH and VIL values which I have observed from those mentioned in the datasheet.

According to the datasheet, Voltage above 2V is considered high, whereas in my observation a high level output is obtained when V is 1.671V. Similarly, any Voltage below 0.8 V is considered low, but in my case a low output is observed earlier at 1.221 V.

Does it has anything to do with the input transition rate?

Or is this deviation explained by some other factors?

The specified V_IL/V_IH values are guaranteed worst-case values under all possible circumstances.
