Tool/software:
Hello,
So I did find another GUI on the gallery:
https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/TIMSPGC/MSPM0G-DRV8323RS-EVM-GUI/ver/1.0.1/
This one seems to have its own firmware associated? Which firmware is this in the SDK? Also is there a tuning guide for this one? I consistently hit the overcurrent fault until I changed the CSA gain to "3" in the GUI. What does the 3 correspond to? What's supposed to be the correct value for the DRV8323RS and the LVSERVOMTR? I was able to get the GUI working, albeit right now the motor runs backwards because there is no hookup guide for the LVSERVOMTR.
But my big issue with this GUI is that in IPD, no matter the settings I've tried, the motor stays stuck in IPD and is sinking a LOT of current to where my power supply is hitting overcurrent and the voltage is actually dropping from 18V to about 10V at 10A.
I've tried a couple different tweaks like changing the IPD frequency, and the IPD thresh count, but nothing seems to work and the motor rotor is locked.
Any help here would be appreciated.
Munan
If the motor stays stuck in IPD and sinks a lot of current try different IPD settings like different IPD frequency and IPD threshold count, but do so incrementally.
One other thing that seems like a bug is that if the speed reference is set to 0 and you enable the motor, the motor will start spinning up to the maximum speed possible. Sometimes it will start in the reverse direction (speed is negative) and then if you then set a positive reference it will not stop the motor and force the motor into the forward direction.
Hi Munan,
The GUI is used with the firmware of SDK 1.20. As for our newer SDK, it is not compatiable. The source code of this GUI is included in SDK 1.20.
Furtherore, the SDK 1.20 and its firmware is a preliminary demo with open sourced sensorless FOC algorithm and it is not maintianed in the latest SDK.

There is a draft slide which might be reference for you.
While, I should mention that this is not maintain now, and just a demo project and GUI for the user.
MSPM0G FOC Sensorless Solution Guide
The latest version is SDK 2.0.1 and related GUI is in your another thread below:

Hi Sal,
Thanks for the feedback, can we mark these older guis as DEPRECATED or remove them? Otherwise it can be very confusing when looking at the GUI gallery page to know which one to use.
Munan
Hi Munan,
While we still gives the option of SDK 1.20 for user reference, so I assume it is better to keep the GUI for those want to use this demo project.
Also, we give the link in our SDK documents and application note of MSPM0 Motor Control. If user enter the link with these materials, there should be no doubt.
I will forward your feedback to software team, that maybe they can add some note for the old GUI.
