TMS570LC4357: Special Multiplexed Controls - GIOB[2] Select

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Hello,

We are using the TMS570LC4357,  we would like more information about the IOMM module.

In Table 6-3 and Figure 6-6 of Reference manual (spnu563a), the 'GIOB[2] Select' can be selected by by PINMMR[23..16].

Nevertheless, in the su-section 6.5.6 just above the Figure 6-6, it is written : "Therefore, the input from this terminal can optionally be connected to the
GIOB[2] input. This connection is enabled by setting PINMMR160[0]=0 and PINMMR160[1]=1"

Is it a mistake ? what is the byte of the PINMMR160 register to configure the GIOB[2] Select ?

Best regards,

Christopher

  • Hello Christopher,
GIOB[2] could be connected to F2 or B9 terminal. This is done by setting PINMMR86[8] and PINMMR86[9] while using it as input (Table 6-2) and PINMMR20[8] and PINMMR18[27] when using it as output (Table 6-1).

Table 6-3 is for Special Multiplexed Controls.
For example with PINMMR160[16] and PINMMR160[17] we can set GIOB[2] to be used for disabling HET2 PWM output.

    Best regards,
    Miro
  • OK, If I understand the sentence in the reference manual "Therefore, the input from this terminal can optionally be connected to the
GIOB[2] input. This connection is enabled by setting PINMMR160[0]=0 and PINMMR160[1]=1" is wrong since this is the PINMMR160[16] and PINMMR160[17] to perform this multplexing ?

    Best regards,

  • Hello Christopher,
Yes this should be PINMMR160[16] and PINMMR160[17]. I'll forward this issue to my colleagues for clarification.

    Best regards,
    MIro
  • Hello Christopher,
This sentence is for no-default condition. The default condition is “PINMMR160[16]=1 and PINMMR160[17]=0” (GIOB[2]/DCAN4TX), and another condition is “PINMMR160[16]=0 and PINMMR160[17]=1” (signal from N2HET[02]/GIOB[2]).

    Best regards,
    Miro
