Hi team,
My customer is using MSP430FR2355 and MSP-GANG for mass production, a quick question is if the device is protected by password, how can it be unlock and program again through SBW? I didn't find related information in msp-gang user guide.
Regards,
Jo
Hi soli,
Yes, my question is to the MSP-GANG, I found I cannot use it to program locked MSP430FR2355 through SBW, and I didn't find any options in the GUI related to unlock JTAG/SBW or mass erase to locked device.
Hi team,
My customer just bought two sets of the tool so please help on this question at earliest convenience, thank you.
regards,
Jo
Hi Jo,
I know that many customers use the Elprotronic Gang programming software - have you looked into this tool?

Hi Leo,
Yes, I used MSP-GANG few times in different projects for various customers but I haven't tried to program a locked device so I was surprised that my customer reported such limitation. Have you tried to program a locked device through SBW/JTAG by the tool? I can't find where to configure it or any options related to it.
Thanks,
Jo
Hi Jo,
I didn't see any documentation for this. Have you tried mass erasing the device first?
I found this related thread on writing to the JTAG mailbox with MSP GANG:
Hope this helps.

Leo
Hi Leo,
Here's the update. In my test result the locked device can be unlocked by BSL mass erase function in MSP-GANG. So SBW does not accept mass erase cmd, users must use BSL to erase the device to unlock it.
Thanks,
Jo
