Hi,
My customer used 3 MSP-FETs, and these suddenly don't work. with the UniFlash, CCS and FETPro430 (Elprotronic)
So we tried to recover it according to the MSP-FET User guide's method, but it still doesn't work.
The FW upgrade of the MSP-FET works fine.
However, when I download to the EVM with CCS, the device is not recognized.
Unknown device message is appeared.
The MSP-FET seems to be recognized normally, but it doesn't work.
Hi,
I did some more testing.
The link below seems to be related to my case.
I tested each MSP-FET430UIF and MSP-FET using MSP Flasher.
When I used < -i DETECT> commnad, results are same.
The program download command failed when FET was used and succeeded when UIF was used.
I retired recovery to solving problem.
When prompted as below, I confirm the request to recover the firmware and all following firmware update requests.
After only recovery, an update request message appears on the flasher as shown above.
And then after the update, the LED state changes from to
MSP-FET .
When I connect the MSP-FET to PC, after the GREEN LED turns on and off , the RED LED is always turn on.
Hello,
Were you able to get the MSP-FETs working? When the red LED was turned on solid, where the MSP-FETs connected to the target board or not connected to anything? Are you seeing identical behavior on all three FETs?
I found a detailed post on another customer working through this with a TI engineer, although the customer ultimately came to the conclusion that the FET had been damaged. I would suggest read the post and try some of their sets, like maybe a different version of MSP Flasher. https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp-low-power-microcontrollers-group/msp430/f/msp-low-power-microcontroller-forum/929256/ccs-msp-fet-device-throw-error-after-firmware-update-unable-to-connect-to-targets
Thanks,
JD
