Hi,
I have problem installing USB driver of MSP-FET430UIF.
In the device manager when I select update driver:
I get the following massage:
“an error occurred during the installation of the device , a service installation section in this INF is invalid”
I try also pointing on the driver include in msp430.dll_developer_package_rev_3.02.005.004.zip, still the same massage.
Please advice,
Erez

If the driver's inf file is in the zip file which you are pointing the device manager to use, first extract the zip file into a folder and then direct the driver installer to the path where the INF file is located.
I have pointed the hardware wizard to all INF files in this zip and noone seems to match for my "MSP430UIF".
I got the driver installed with libusbwin but then I do not get a COM-port assigned.
The curious things is that I have 2 boards and one works without a problem and is recognized as an "MSP430 Application UART" but an identical launchpad does not get recognized at all on my pc... the correct driver uses c:\Windows\system32\Drivers\usbser.sys (V1.3.0.0)
Anyone got this problem resolved?
I pointed the hardware wizard manually to Ports (COM & LPT) , "Don't search I will choose the drive to install"
now my device became an MSP430 Application UART (COM x)
The MSPFET430UIF does not seem to have a valid driver that windows can recognize...
