I am unsuccessfully trying to run the LED Flashing app on a MSP-TS430RGC64USB board using the MSP-FET430UIF JTAG.
When I try to debug and download the code, the red light on the MSP-FET430UIF turns on and the green light turns off, while the error message in IAR is:
Communication error.
Check if hardware is connected.
Check if debug protocol (SBW or 4-wire) is correct.
According to the Device manager the MSP-FET430UIF is installed but not working. Apparently the IAR workbench software didn't properly install the drivers for the JTAG device. Thus, I followed the instructions in the MSP FET430UIF User's Guide and installed the drivers manually from the IAR folder. Now Device Manger says the drivers are installed correctly.
Nonetheless, the Flashing LED app still doesn't work and IAR gives the same error message as previously. In addition both the red and the green lights on the FET430UIF are on now.
Any help is appreciated.
