Hallo,
I know there are many post about this problem and i have read all of them but none seems to fix my problem.
I run IAR Embedded Workbench to program my MSP430L092 using a MSP-FET430UIF and i have used it sometimes but ever since it asked me to update my firmware the device isn't recognized.
My Specs:
Windows 7 pro 64x
IAR Embedded Workbench for MSP430 IDE, including complete build chain and debugger. Version 5.51.6.
MSP-Fet430UIF -CDC.
I tried to downgrade my firmware and this worked. but when ever i start IAR it asks me to upgrade my firmware and the problem begins again.
Can someone help me, please?
Well I somehow fixed the problem. If someone else is experiencing the same problem try downgrading the MSP-FET430UIF and then removing IAR Embedded Workbench and the drivers for the MSP-Fet430UIF. Then make sure anti-virus or any other "protection" program is shut off. Then run the installation again as admin. And do not install it in program files.
Also running ccs and IAR gives problems so i removed both.
I recognize you marked your thread as verified, but I believe there is a problem in the MSP-FET430UIF version 3.03.28.680.
I am using a FR57xx FRAM board and the IAR tools. My PC is a Windows 7 - 64bit. I did not have a problem with IAR 5.40 but when upgrading to 5.51.6 the problem started. I could not find the instructions to down grade to an earlier version. I tried using the Elprotronic software down grade feature, but it does not work either. It did identify the current firmware version. If you can point me to a link of instructions on how to downgrade and where to get an earlier driver file that would be helpful.
My software uses the UART that shares the USB with the driver. When I am running IAR debugging, I used to be able to run Hyper Terminal [copied from old XP machine] and use my menu structure to issue commands to the FRAM board and change various parameters. And use the commands in conjunction with the debugger and break points. After the update, I cannot connect to the COM port [identified in device manager] while debugging and even after exiting the debugger and resetting via the proverbial unplug / plug in the USB again, I am still unable to communicate.
To help me,
1. Can someone else verify they are having issues with the latest drivers used with IAR.
2. Provide instructions on where to get earlier driver and instructions to down grade.
Hey Jim,
I'm no expert but i will try and help.
i followed the steps on this page: http://supp.iar.com/Support/?note=12731&from=note+18695. There is a download with a batch file that will downgrade the MSP-FET430UIF.
It is also very important to check if the target is still correct (Project>>Options>>General Options) after updating or a new install it could forget the settings.
Also I have a MSP-FET430UIF version 1.4a and it is very new so maybe your problem is different then mine.
I hope this helps just incase i will remove the verified from my previous post, hoping it will get better hits.
