UART Backchannel Implementation of MSP-FET.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hello,

I have received the inquiry of UART of MSP-FET from the customer.

Page 160.

MCLK=1Mhz and 8Mhz are described by "Table B-40."

What kind of result is obtained as for MCLK=2Mhz, 4Mhz, and 16Mhz?

Regards, Hidetaka.

  • Hello Hidetaka,

We have not characterized those combinations of setting and do not have data for them. As you can see from the table, the most defining characteristic for different baud rates will be if Flow Control is on. Most rates can be achieved at 1 MHz with Flow Control on. It can be safely said that anything below 8MHz can achieve the performance of the 1MHz, and a 16MHz clock will achieve the performance the 8MHz specifies. Is there a particular rate your customer is trying to achieve?

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,
    JH
  • Okay, Jace-san.

I heard from the customer "I have not yet decided concrete MCLK and baud rate."
I consider it as this close.
    Thanks.
    Hidetaka.
