Hi Team,
What is backchannel UART?
What is the difference between backchannel UART and normal UART?
Is backchannel UART only used for the debug?
Can the user use this function as UART?
Thanks and Best regards,
Kuerbis
I don't know what device you have - I use the MSP432P401R - and for that the back channel UART is one of the UARTS connected via the XDS110 on the board as a serial port on the PC.
It is a normal UART connection to the PC, you can use it for anything, not just debugging. It runs even if CCS is not.
I am not sure who the "user" is in this context, but it is strictly for the programmer, the XDS110 and CCS don't use it at all.
One other caveat:
If you want to use the back channel UART on a PC that does not have CCS installed, you will have to install the Ti USB drivers.

If it (FET) is CDC+CDC composite device than on Win10, OS X or Linux, it should be enumerated automatically by OS, without drivers.
