I am having an issue with using the FET debugger.
I am using IAR IDE for MSP430 v5.60. Every time I try to download my program, it throws an error saying :Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port : (Initialize) , port=USB, version=0xffffffff.
My PC is a windows 10. I have used it prior on this PC and it has not had this issue. I tried to uninstall the FET driver but then when I try to update it , it gives an error saying driver not found.
Can someone please help me get through this issue?
Thanks
Hi Prema,
Do you happen to have CCS installed on your PC? If not, can you try installing CCS v7? If the drivers installed with CCS doesn't fix the issue, perhaps you can manually update the 'MSP430.dll' file from the MSP Debug Stack (MSPDS). Other users have experienced issues using the MSP-FET430UIF with Windows 10. I'm not sure if Windows Update did something behind the scenes that would affect this driver or not.
It may be good to eventually update your debugger to our newer MSP-FET, since the MSP-FET430UIF is not recommended for new designs (NRND).
