TPS543C20: Power Droop issue

Part Number: TPS543C20

Dear TI Team,

We are using TPS543C20 stacked regulators in dual phase configuration in our board.  We have connected digital load to validate the PDN characteristics.

Currently on the board we have disabled the slave IC and currently only 1 IC is being used. The output voltage is configured for 0.8V and when we run test for high current, a voltage droop of more than 100mV is observed.

Please find the attached image for your reference.

What might be the reason for such high droop.

Kindly provide your input on the same.

  • Hi Vyshnav

Please allow us a few days to get back to you.

  • Hi Vyshnav,

Please try connecting the RSP sense pin to the VOUT node at VDD_CORE_REG_0V8.

It is hard to tell the cause from the attached waveform. Is Channel 1 VOUT? If so, which node is it (VDD_CORE_REG_0V8 or VDD_MLSOC_0V8)?

You mentioned this is caused by high current. Can you share waveforms of the device operating correctly? What is the maximum current it can reach before voltage drop?

These things will all help us debug the issue.

    Best regards,

    Britton
