TPS536C7EVM-051: Fusion GUI setting

Part Number: TPS536C7EVM-051
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS536C7

Hi Team,

According to the phase config settings,

the multi-stage action cannot be confirmed, and only PWM1 generates PWM waveform.
Can I ask you to the setting order of Fusion GUI from the beginning?
It would be better if there were a detailed manual on the function and operation of Fusin GUI.
Because the customer bought this evaluation for the first time, there are some unclear points.
Please confirm the following detailed questions.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me.

Travis is no longer in MCS or supporting the TPS536C7, so I want to get other support from your team.

  • Hi Frank,

Those setting look correct to use A and B channel.

Have you set the jumpers on the board correctly as outlined in the user guide for use of A and B channel?

If you have done this, please confirm that the operation setting has been changed from control pin only so that you can control V_out using Fusion. This will allow Fusion or yourself to turn off the voltage output when store the configuration to the NVM. The configuration may not be stored while the device is regulating.

Please let me know if this does not fix your issue.

    Best Regards,

    Nash

  • Hi Nash,

For Jumper, customer set to 12+0.
What he wants to know is an improvement from a state that is only working in one phase.
The customer wants you to explain in detail how to set up the Fusion GUI.
(The same request was also written in the attached pdf of last time)

  • Hi Frank,

Can you please send me the customer config files?

I will test on my EVM and send a working configuration file if I find an issue with customer config.

    Best Regards,

    Nash

  • Hi Nash,

    Thank you for your responses.

Is it OK with attached files for your request ?

Could you tell me wfat’s wrong with these settings?
    And
I’d like to have the setting manual of Fusion GUI to set 12ch multi or (less than 12) phase operation arbitrarily?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Frank

  • Hi Frank,

I am unable to load your config file for some reason. I believe I may know why the customer is only getting a pwm on PWM1. Can you confirm if 'Dynamic Phase Shedding' is on in the 'Rail Configuration' tab? If so, try turning off dynamic phase shedding. That should allow there to be a pwm on each phase.

Please let me know if that fixes the issue.

    Best Regards,

    Nash

  • Hi Nash,

Thank you for your kindness response.
I tried your suggestion for the trouble fixing.
    I found multiphase operation but 10phase, PWM6 and PWM12 don’t appear.
Are there other settigs in Fusion GUI for 12phase?
Please see attched files shown configuration tab of this situation and the wave forms from our oscilloscope.
If you find wrong settings, please tell me the best one.

    PS

And I asked you to give me the manual (sheet) for configuration of TPS356C7 before, please answer about it.

    Frank
