Our EVM bases on SDK7, and we already patched the MDIO workaround .

Please tell me the exact SDK version you are working with.

MDIO fix has been included in latest versions, thus, it is preferrable to use latest SDK version.

Our EVT run with Linux RT SDK 7_01_00_18  with i2329 patch.

And Ti EVM run with Linux RT SDK8_02_00_01 without i2329 patch.

I just tried with Ti EVM again, and the result still the same.

I don' think its' related to i2329 patch, because only the last two command fail, which is to read 0x25 and 0x1D5.

Refer to section 8.4.2.1 of DP83867IR datasheet | TI.com

Addresses above 0x001F falls under extended register set and they are accessed using indirect addressing via registers REGCR (0x000D) and ADDAR (0X000E)

Thus, these register values can't be edited directly.

Here is the method you need to follow in order to edit the register values (assigning value 0x0480 to address 0x0025):

• Value of REGCR to set the address to be accessed -> 0x001F [15:14 bit = 00, for address]
  • phytool ethX/0x0/0x000D 0x001F
• Now value in ADDAR will point to the target register address -> 0x0025 (address of target register)
  • phytool ethX/0x0/0x000E 0x0025
• Set value of REGCR for assigning value to address pointed by ADDAR -> 0x401F. [15:14 bit = 01, data with no post increment]
  • phytool ethX/0x0/0x000D 0x401F
• Value in ADDAR is assigned the value to be contained in the address targeted by REGCR -> 0x0480 (value to be assigned to 0x0025)
  • phytool ethX/0x0/0x000E 0x0480

In order to read the value of the register:

• Set REGCR = 0x001F
• ADDAR = 0x0025 (pointing to the address of the register to be read)
• REGCR = 0x401F
• read REG ADDAR -> phytool read ethX/0x0/0x000E
