Hi,

Refer to the 6657 EVM board has developed a 6657 board.

JTAG hardware circuit is as follows

Test Connection is ok

but 90% could not work properly (Sometimes this is successful)

no bootmode

Hello Jimmy,

Are you using the same DDR3 memory device as in C6657 EVM board ? If not, Please change the configuration register settings of the DDR3 memory device.

I hope you are using the default GEL file as it for your custom board. The default GEL file is created for the EVM board and it has the configuration registers for the DDR3 memory in the EVM. So you need to change the register values based on your DDR3 memory device.

I only changed here,

I want to know where there is need to be aware of, and where need to modify?

And why sometimes success sometimes not successful?Be a hardware problem?

Hi Senthil:
I have already changed the DDR3，using the same DDR3 memory device as in C6657 EVM board，But it is still not OK.

Hello Jimmy,

I suspect the issue could be due to hardware problem. I would suggest you to check your hardware especially PCB layout, whether you meet all the DDR3 design guidelines given in the below user guide.

If it is a hardware problem, then it should not again do not succeed? How successful it will be time for it?
If the connection is successful, and the hardware does not power down, DDR3 has read and write is no problem, this is why?

Hello Jimmy,

When you are using the same memory chip as in EVM, there won't be any changes required in the configuration in the GEL file. But still you are saying that it is not working, which means there should be some issue in the hardware.

When the hardware design is marginal, it would work sometime. So please ensure your design meet all the recommendations given in the DDR3 design requirement document.

I assume, the JTAG test connection pass at all the times. Please confirm.

These days I tried it, and found that every time went enable REWR_LVL_EN will error (0x210000d8)

Hello Jimmy,

I am not able to understand your response. What is the value of RDWR_LVL_EN register and what is the error you are seeing ?

Could you please confirm your hardware design is optimal ?
