we are using following sdk

C:\ti\ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_08\mcu_plus_sdk (industrial sdk version -9020008) .

Is there any possibilities to flash firmware of AM2434 board via EtherNet/IP protocol?

Hi Yashaswini,

Regarding Ethernet boot with AM243x, as mentioned in the attached thread: The Errata item i2331 still exists preventing the usage of Ethernet boot.

For specific to EtherNet/IP protocol, allow me some time to get more clarity on this and get back to you.

Hi Yashaswini,

For clarification, when you say 'flash firmware of AM2434 board via EtherNet/IP protocol' - do you want to flash the system image and boot the board using ICSSG or are you referring to the ICSS firmware?

We are making our custom board using AM2434 for EtherNET/IP adaptor using this SDK. ....\ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_08\examples\industrial_comms\ethernetip_adapter_demo.

As of now we are using XDS110 for flashing via UART. We are using python script for flashing via UART - .....\ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_08\mcu_plus_sdk\tools\boot\sbl_prebuilt\am243x-lp.

Now our requirement is we want to flash our application code via EtherNET/IP instead of UART. In Technical Reference Manual in section 4.4.5 Ethernet Boot is mentioned. I want to know how can we achive this.
Do we need to change the boot loader code also or in existing code we can add some module for Ethernet boot?

Apologies, I clicked the TI thinks Resolved button on your above reply. I will keep the thread open and we can continue our discussion.

The tool that you mentioned above is not available for AM234x and I am not familiar with any similar tool as well.

I will state my understanding of your usecase once again, please correct if I am wrong somewhere, similar to how we flash the bootloader+application image with default_sbl_ospi using UART, you want to flash the bootloader+Ethernet/IP application onto the board using Ethernet (ICSSG).

Flashing onto the board using Ethernet is not currently supported in MCU+SDK. If your requirement is different from what I mentioned above, please correct me and let me know.

Hi Nitika,

Our usecase is same but we are not changing the bootloader and we want to flash only application image through Ethernet IP. We are using ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_08.

Does ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_08 support flashing through Ethernet?

Hi Yashaswini,

Currently, flashing through Ethernet is not supported in any of the SDKs for AM243x.
