TPS63030 power consumption when enable=low

Q: TPS63030 higher power consumption than expected by 1754684

a customer is using TPS63030 in his application...

he observed higher power consumption for the TPS than expected when EN = LOW (shutdown)...

below the details:

<< We use the TPS63030DSK to generate +5V. To save power in the device and to switch off the +5V rail, we use the enable input of the IC. However, we measure in the off state (enable= low) an output voltage of 1.6V. The datasheet says that the chip in shutdown mode switches the load away. For comparison, we have measured current in shutdown mode with and without a chip (unsolder) : the difference is approximately 15mA, which means that the load on the chip is not completely disconnected. Can you help us with this problem? >>

many thanks in advance

When testing the TPS63030, I measured no output voltage or current when the enable input is off.  Can you give me some more details about your customer's set-up?

thank you very much,

customer solved on himself... it was a bump from another (sub)system that was connected to the TPS63030 .

after removing the part, the behavior of the IC was as expected (no current through the load when EN=LOW).
